"Final Destination" VS "Halloween 2"

Just a few days in cinema and already proving popular, being top at the box office in the USA, with $28.3 million, in 3,121 theatres and easily beating Michael Myers in “Halloween 2”, which his currently 3rd in the box office listing, with $17.4 million. These two movies are competing against each other having being released the same day.

The fourth film in the “Final Destination “franchise has the biggest budget out of all the instalments, but it doesn’t seem to be getting favourable reviews from critics. So how can it be box office number one in USA, but still achieving bad reviews? Are people seeing the movie hoping for higher expectation and feeling let down once they have seen the movie. How long can “Final Destination” stay number one?

Having “Final Destination” taking the lead “Inglourious Basterds" slips to second place with $20 million, but having a total of $73.8million in just 10 days and a worldwide total of $132.9 million, it can’t be doing that bad.

Review of the “Final Destination” I saw the movie the day it was released, even though it was expensive for the tickets, I felt that it was going to be worth it, the worst part was waiting 40mins for trailers and adverts. (that’s the UK for you) The movie does keep you wanting more, with some creative death scenes and gore that will make you turn your head. If you have seen the other “Final Destination “movies then you know what to expect, escaping from death and death chasing after them. It’s hard to say which movie I consider best out of the franchise because some of the movie have elements that the other movies don’t. I did enjoy the movie, but I would have loved it to have been longer and made the ending different from the others. I think sometime the movie was predictable and you knew how it was going to end.

Should it be Halloween slashing Final Destination, you decide? Write your comments below.
